>>> P.S. What's Scheimplug?
Since several people have now asked... :-)) >From <http://www.columbia.edu/~akj19/scheimpflug.html> "Scheimpflug Imaging in Ophthalmology is a technique that allows the assessment of the anterior segment of the eye, from the front of the cornea to the back of the lens, in a sagittal plane. The name dates back to the Austrian national Theodor Scheimpflug, who invented and patented the technique in 1904, in Vienna. The new photographic apparatus he designed found its first applications in the pursuit of military goals. Built into balloons it was used to photograph landscapes for the creation of accurate maps for improved targeting. Since its invention Scheimpflug cameras were designed and used for special challenges in photography, whenever accurate illustration over a wide focal range is needed. The Scheimpflug camera still finds use in architectural documentation of skyscraper faades." I first came across this during my Geology degree, when looking at aspects of aerial photo interpretation. For a collection of explanations see: <http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=003FLe> And a discussion in the context of large format cameras: <http://people.westminstercollege.edu/faculty/ccline/photos/itlf/largeformat 3.html> If nothing else try and spell the mans name correctly! :-)) bye for now Keith Cooper Northlight Images http://northlight-images.co.uk Photography - Digital Imaging - Apple Mac Consultancy Tel +44 (0)116 291 9092 Mobile +44 (0)780 162 9397 =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
