> So seriously, who or what is Schiemplug? Briefly, he Scheimplug principle states that the lens plane, the image (film/CCD) plane and the plane of sharpest focus meet in a line.
If you set up your camera so that the film/CCD plane passes through the floor at your feet, and the plane through the nodal point of your lens (perpendicular to the axis), passes through the same line, then, if any point on the floor is in sharp focus, then the whole floor will be in the plane of sharpest focus. The line (or hinge point) moves as you focus, and Merklinger elaborated the principle to take this into account. Somewhere on the net there is a nice diagram, you might find it if you search for these two names. =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
