[PRODIG] Keywords data base?

Hi I am a photographer of 20 years, now working in digital for the last year and enjoying the changes, as David Hockney said 'The artist is inside the camera again and exciting time are ahead'. Although it is a little daunting when lost in the wood of digital trees searching for the way home.   My current search is the path to Keywords in IPTC file in Photoshop 7.   Does anyone know of a program that will load keywords from a data base?
