All discussions re computer processing power are really rather transient are they not. When my father worked for IBM he told me of gathering memory modules together to make up a sufficient amount to do a given task.At that time half a megabyte occupied the space a washing machine currently takes ,and that was cutting edge stuff. Platforms we use are dependant on many factors some subjective and some objective. I never see people waxing lyrical over PCs the way I do Macs but likewise I never see O/S problems occurring with such frequency in PC world as I do in MacWorld. I'm comfortable selecting, purchasing and assembling components to make a PC which I then utilise to make a living with. Many of these components are Mac / PC interchangeable which is fine .We choose the best/fastest/most cost effective kit to do a chosen job, mostly ! I have absolutely no problem with changing from say Nikon to Canon if I believe that the kit im buying will serve me better so why,oh why do computer users get so passionate about yesterdays doorstop when it comes to computers. Come on everyone, get a life! its just a hammer for knocking in nails and if it keeps knocking in the nails does it matter if its called Fred or Freda ? The marketing people have you by the short and curlies.Be free spirits . THINK !
