I have tried biting my lip, honest... :-)

All discussions re computer processing power are really rather transient are they not.
Indeed they are and I am actually completely HW agnostic, I really don't care about what Processor is the fastest this week. (We tend to tie Intel and *That* OS together though, don't we?) Morals on the other hand are not transient.
I look at it like this: I don't beat my wife, I don't abuse my child, I recycle things, I use a car as little as possible, give my child organic food whenever possible and I *don't* use *That* OS. There is a choice. It also happens that that choice is better suited to what I do than *That* OS. Even if Macs were half the speed they are, I would use them. In fact my Mac is *less* than half the speed of the G5, way less.
I never see people waxing lyrical over PCs the way I do Macs but likewise I never see O/S
problems occurring with such frequency in PC world as I do in MacWorld.
Now you're just teasing... ;-) What do you mean? No, don't answer. This is my last post in this thread.
We choose the best/fastest/most cost effective kit to do a chosen job, mostly !
Only when we don't care about who or what we do business with. Times are hard at the moment but many of us here would *still* turn down certain work on moral grounds. Why don't we take the same stand when it comes to the tools we use?
why do computer users get so passionate about yesterdays doorstop when it comes to computers.
Because they represent not just yesterday's doorstops but tomorrow's Rulers of the World. I'd like to make a better one than the one that lot have in mind.
Come on everyone, get a life!
It's not everyone. It's just me... :-)
The marketing people have you by the short and curlies.
Not me mate...
THINK !
Agreed!
