Hi

What system are you using?

On my OSX 10.2.6 machine there is a copy of the file in /Users/Keith (my
home directory). It's not visible in OSX since UNIX defaults to not showing
files which start in a full stop. If the machine is booted into OS9 they
will all show up (OS9 used a different way of hiding things)

You don't have to bother with environment variables in OSX (well more to the
point - you shouldn't have to :-))

Just use the text editor and save the file as .vuescanrc

As a general aside ... If you use an editor like Bbedit that allows you to
see the invisible files, you will find they are all over the place in your
directories. There is a good reason that they are hidden! Alter them at your
peril - unless you are sure you know what you are doing.
