Hi What system are you using? On my OSX 10.2.6 machine there is a copy of the file in /Users/Keith (my home directory). It's not visible in OSX since UNIX defaults to not showing files which start in a full stop. If the machine is booted into OS9 they will all show up (OS9 used a different way of hiding things) You don't have to bother with environment variables in OSX (well more to the point - you shouldn't have to :-)) Just use the text editor and save the file as .vuescanrc As a general aside ... If you use an editor like Bbedit that allows you to see the invisible files, you will find they are all over the place in your directories. There is a good reason that they are hidden! Alter them at your peril - unless you are sure you know what you are doing. bye for now Keith Cooper Northlight Images http://northlight-images.co.uk Photography - Digital Imaging - Apple Mac Consultancy Tel +44 (0)116 291 9092 Mobile +44 (0)780 162 9397 =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
