On 9, any profile in the system folder>colorsync folder should appear
as a destination space in proof setup>custom. Can you see it in convert to
profile? perhaps the profile's faulty? If you email me it I'll look at
it for you.

if you're expecting a profile to apppear in the dropdown list of
proofing options you do have to load it via custom and then save it as
a .psf file. You probably noticed that only a few options appear under
view/proof setup, certainly not every profile in the colorsync folder
which would make for a very crowded list. Then there's the options for
white black and rendering - you'd have a list a yard long.
