Hi

This is not for the timid, but I was given a printer(860) with a severe clog
and was able to remove the heads. I cleaned them in an ultrasonic cleaning
bath, with a mix of isopropyl alcohol and some ammonia. The bath is the sort
for cleaning mapping pens (which also clog very quickly) - I suppose the
ones for jewellery would be ok as well. I only placed each head in some
5-6mm depth of solution.

This was the last thing before it went to the skip. My parents have now been
happily using it for the last year (hardly critical use :-) I did a head
alignment check after reassembly and it seemed OK. It was quite straight
forward to dismantle, but then again I've been tinkering with optical and
electronic equipment for years :-))

I should add that I tried it on another poorly printer and it never worked
again.

bye for now
