Hi John,

Thanks for the info on the Nikon lens (105mm macro) the orange spot is a
soft colouring as you say in the center of the lens but not perfectly round
as would be the case if the Aperture diaphragm was the main cause.

Cheers

None experienced on the 105 I use frequently.....
Is this 'orange spot' a general soft colouring towards the centre of the
image?

John

Hi All,

Thought all Kodak 14n users would like to know this.

I have just returned a brand new Tamron 90mm 2.8 macro lens due to the fact
it produces a orange spot in the center of any shot taken (regardless of
aperture). (this was checked on two 14n bodies) This is the 2nd lens
returned to the same camera store here in Johannesburg (the other by another
14n user) and would appear to be a common problem according to the camera
shop . Non of my other Nikon lenses have this affect.

I wonder if anyone else has had this problem with the Nikon 105mm Macro
lens?

Cheers

I have the Sigma. Unbelievably I've seen the same thing - an orange
spot in the centre. I was photographing a CD case with a red label. At
first I thought it was the oils in the plastic. I switched to a Nikon
85mm and it vanished. This was on a D100. Maybe it's the way macro
lenses are built?
Patrick.
