These differences may not all be due to differences in optics. Canon tweaked the color response of the chip with the introduction of the 10D (seems to effect the red/blue response the most), and also included a new version of their DIGIC processor as well. From what I've seem, the color seems a little cleaner from the 10D over the D60. Skin tones in particular.
