I'm having difficulty calibrating the LaCie 19blueIV monitor though, using a LaCie Blue eye calibrator and software. I get an error message stating that the software couldn't open the USB enable cable. It is plugged into the G5 (MacOS 10.2.7).
I checked for calibrator software updates, found one for MacOS 10.0.13 that I downloaded & installed, but no go.
In the studio there is the earlier 19blueIII model which has a USB cable attached to the main monitor cable that plugs into the computer, a G4 in this case. With the 19blueIV there is only 1 cable that plugs into the G5 via an adapter.
Finally got it to work. Simple of course, it was the cable! Swapped it with an older one with the enable-USB bit and bingo.
Strange that LaCie ships monitors with cables that aren't compatible with their calibrating devices.
