Hi Gordon,
I've just pasted my reply to a similar query posted last August :
Yes I have one and I'm amazed how good it is. It has the same screen area as my LaCie 22" Electron Blue III. Side by side with both monitors calibrated ( BasICColor/Squid ), the Photon 20 has greater colour gamut, and far more detail in the blacks. Pure black looks exactly pure black not dark grey as in CRTs. All in all I prefer the Photon 20, the only downside is sharpness.
Due to the TFT technology the Photon 20 makes images appear sharper than they actually are, and also may portray jaggies in diagonals & curves ( at 1600 X 1200 ) when there are none. The way I work around this is to use the Photon 20 for everything but sharpening which I do on the CRT.
There is also a Formac 2010 TFT in the studio which is also very good but not quite up to the LaCie Photon 20. The LaCie's desk clamp is also fantastic, saving loads of desk space and is really secure and sturdy. Very good monitor and very good value ! I'm getting another one !!
