Hi My name is Roy Haylings and I am Sales and Marketing Manager at Avon Imaging Limited in Bristol. We are predominantly providers of digital repro for magazine publishers, advertising agencies and studios and, more recently providers of digital images for Photo Libraries.
We have both high-end drum and flat-bed scanners as well as digital proofing in the form of Cromalin and HP5000 devices. In our digital imaging department we have half a dozen highly skilled scanner operators, colour retouchers and image manipulators. We have found quite alot of indecision and confusion regarding how clients want their images saved. Some want cmyk, some want rgb, some want unsharp masking on, some want it off. We are happy to supply whatever they want, but it would be interesting to know what the consensus of opinion is regarding scanned images for the Photo Library sector.
