Dear paul, As far as image quality goes they are the same.
What you get on the 10d is, faster write times, better build quaity, faster autofocus, option of vc grip, better exposure options/ttl etc. They both do raw files, so image quality is the same. I would check the dp review site for more in depth review, its always pretty good unbiased starting point.
