The Adobe intro day in London was interesting taster yesterday but CS
itself has really been quite a revelation.

The highlight & shadow tool is quite amazing and especially useful for
highlight recovery from digital files. It is destructive and is best
used carefully in 16 bit mode. I am sure that it will make life much
easier for many.

The new histogram palette gives a live preview of just how much damage
is done durin any manipulations.

The file browser is much better, very fast and best of all, once it has
been used initially it does not default to 'My Pictures' on windows.

I have not yet investigated the customization options properly, but
interestingly, shortcuts have been added like F8 for info and F7 for
layers which are the same as actions I created back in Version 5 and
still use (like F7 for curves). I am happy to say that my actions seem
to over-ride.

Overall it looks like a very worthwhile upgrade.

One note: Many of the filters do not work in 16 bit mode despite the
suggestion by many that they would. Many other things do however, most
particularly layers, masks and all the really useful tools.
