Hi List,

I'm not going to copy and paste every reference here, but the secret
with Canon printers is as follows:

In Photoshop use Ctrl P (or AppleP) to get print with preview (Except
they have changed it on Photoshop CS - typical!)

Source Space: Adobe RGB or whatever is you standard space

Print Space: BJ Color Printer Profile 2000 (for the 9000) or whatever
your standard Canon Profile is called. If you have a custom profile, use
it here)

Intent: Perceptual

By using these settings you will get bright, saturated prints that will
match your (calibrated monitor)

The default is to use 'same as source' . The colours are then quite
accurate but very washed out.

The Canon profiles are excellent as standard, a custom is probably only
valid if you want to use the machine a a proofer in which case contact
neil B or Thomas Holm.

2 more tips: In the Canon Driver window set quality to custom and then
choose '1 Fine' and diffusion for the very best output.

In colour adjustment, chose manual. If using the standard Canon profile
then chose Print type: photograph. If using a custom profile, use Print
type: manual (also use for outputting your print for profiling).

For the best looking, photographic prints, use Photo Paper pro (PR101)

I have had the 9000 for 18 months and although it could do with a print
head, it knocks the spots off even the Epson 2100. It is very fast (A4
1Min) and quiet and reasonable on ink. Best of all it does not wash
itself every time you use it as other brands do...

HTH?

Nick WB.
