After much rigorous testing and an off the record comment from a leading
manufacturer of LCD monitors , we've decided to hold fire on the flat
screens for a while
So reassuring (not!) to see this post only minutes after receiving confirmation from Apple that my nice new Cinema display has shipped.
I've had less than fantastic experiences with cheaper LCDs. I decided to try a Cinema display and ordered one to go with a new PowerBook. I'm hopeful, based on positive comments from users I trust, that it will be better. Whether or not it comes even close to an Artisan is another matter altogether. I feel comfortable enough with my editing skills to forgo a small amount of display accuracy for the viewing comfort, desk space, and portability advantages of a good LCD. I guess I'll find out soon enough...
