Sorry if this has already been raised but I am now in OS10.2 on my G4 and
cannot find anywhere in the epson sp1200 driver (OS10) that allows custom
profiles. Where have I gone wrong?
I've just been fighting this issue printing to a 9600. I'm trying to print color critical work out of something other than Photoshop (IviewMedia Pro) and having a devil of a time.
If you use the ColorSync Utility (in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder) you can replace a stock profile that the Epson driver uses with one of your own choosing. I'm not sure how the 1200 works, but when I look at the 9600 in the ColorSync utility it shows a stock Epson profile for each paper type. It gives me the option of changing the existing profile to my own. Then each time I choose that paper type, I'm using that profile... or so the theory goes. I'm still having issues but am too confused even ask a proper question at the moment. I'll post more later when I figure this out. By far the simplest method of color accurate printing it going through Photoshop and simply applying the appropriate profile in Photoshop's print dialog; and then turning color controls off in the driver. That works like a charm. Get into applications that don't allow you to apply a custom profile and all bets are off.
