Might be worth noting that for those Apple users not yet upgraded, that
Panther has extra options in the System Preferences->Monitors->Color
calibrator (at least on my Cinema and Studio Display it does).

You now have the option to 'determine your display's native luminance
response curves'. What this means is that there are more steps to the
visually checking the Apple logo against the grid process, with one for
each 'gun' rather than a single slider.

Whether this means hardware calibrators will get extra options (maybe
control the LCD's 'guns' on an individual basis) I don't know, but it
should mean calibration 'by eye' using the built in options should be a
little easier and more accurate.
