I have found that using digital has imposed an economy on the way I work.
On one of my last big film shoots, my (freelance) assistant pointed out that we were shooting simultaneously on six different cameras and was that really necessary. He had a point, but at the time I think it was, Leicas for speed and quality and a nice atmospheric spontaneously composed version of the shot. Nikon F5 for speed and longer lenses, Hasselblad on a tripod, just to make sure we have a clean shot, and 2 fuji 6x9s (different focal lengths) for the top quality. Given that the Canon 1Ds that replaced all these is close in quality to the best shots I ever got on the Fujis, but handles like the small cameras, I now feel confident shooting on a single body. Fewer cameras - more photography, and assistants for all the other stuff, like someone to drive the car while I snooze.
