It's been my experience with Nikon Tech, here in
the USA, that they don't know how to give a straight answer
about anything.
If it is a Tech problem they often don't know the
answer and give misinformation.
I think they query a computer for answers to tech
problems and then repeat the canned message.
I would call back and ask the same question and get
the same answer almost word for word. It's scary!!
I found the German Nikon site to be the most truthful and forth coming!!
