Hi I've continued using 35mm B/W film (scanned) for much of my landscape work despite going to digital for my more commercial stuff (events etc). I'm now looking at getting a 1Ds for the commercial side and was wondering if anyone on the list uses one for B/W landscapes? If so, are there any lenses (primes or Zooms) that work particularly well in this application?
I should hasten to add I'm fully aware of the numerous sites reviewing lenses and bodies (dpreview, luminous landscape etc) I was just looking for some observations from anyone with such experience? Apart from the image quality/detail with wide angle lenses (24mm gets a lot of use), one of the reasons I stuck with film was the robustness and reliability of 'real' SLRs. Certainly of relevance when I'm scrambling over the moraine at the toe of a glacier... I should also add that save for an unexpected lottery win, MF digital and other more 'exotic' solutions are out of the running for the landscape side of things :-(( bye for now Keith Cooper =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
