Hi everybody- I have a very basic question that bothers me for a long time as I get different answers all the time: if I scan an image on the flatbed scanner or a tranny on my Minolta 5400 should I scan it according to the outputsize or with the max. optical resolution? If I know that i.e. I only want an A4 print is it still sensible to scan at the highest optical resolution and than downsample to 300dpi or should I scan it at a lower resolution so that I can avoid downsampling? Some people tell me always use the highest possible resolution because you never know what you might to use theimage for later. But for the best image quality what is really better? I thought resampling is always bad? Even if upsampling is worse than downsampling? Please don't advice me to look at any more books as I think I must hae read most of them by now- what is your experience? Thanks for any advice. Have a nice Sunday! Regards
