Sorry if this is a bit convoluted:

I sent a client a CD with a Web Photo Gallery made using the File Browser in Photoshop CS on a Mac running OSX 10.2.8, with Internet Explorer set as the default web browser. The gallery index file (with .htm extension) appeared on my machine with the Explorer icon and opened fine, but the client's machine (Mac OS9) didn't recognise it, and would only open it via File>Open in IE. When I booted my own machine into OS9.2.2 the same thing happened: the index did not appear with an IE icon and the system didn't recognise it as an IE file, though it opened OK via File>Open.

Even though my OS9 System did already recognise files with the .htm extension made with other programmes, I fiddled around with the File Exchange Control Panel, and OS9 on my machine now does recognise this file. But one attraction of a web gallery is that anyone should be able to open it with any browser, without fiddling around with anything. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Have I missed something obvious? It not easy to check this out without access to several PCs and Macs. Thanks in advance to anyone with the patience to read through all this.
