Simon The 2100 gives the highest quality and longest life of any inkjet, but the Ultrachrome inks are best suited to fine art paper - waercolour and the like. On glossy or satin Photo Papers you will always see some 'bronzing' - a dichroic reflection when you look at the paper slightly sideways. For photo paper the best option is not the 1290 but the Canon i9100 - the quality of the prints on glossy paper is brilliant, and it's at least 4 times faster than the 1290, and Canon say the prints last longer.
