Glyn:

Actually since the launch of Photoshop 7 this has been on the minds of the
engineers at Adobe. At the Photoplus Expo in New York City this past
October, Marc Pawlinger mentioned that they [adobe] have had several
discussions with Google about making images encoded with XMP metadata
"readable" by the search engines.

However, at this point in time, this is not possible, any more than it is
possible to have a search engine "spider" and catalog a site built with
"Flash."

I do think that this will happen, but my crystal ball is a bit hazy on how
soon that will be.
