Dale asked:
"I'm getting files from a photographer using a D100 and I am seeing
what appears to be sharpening artifacts (the haloing effect). Is
there an on board sharpening setting for the Kodak D100 that he may
have inadvertently activated? I don't believe he applied sharpening
after exposure but when I ask about it I want to know a bit more
about the camera's abilities"

Hi Dale,

I assume you mean a Nikon D100 (not sure if Kodak do a D100). There is on
board sharpening on the D100.

The settings are:

Auto, Normal, Low, High and None.

A brief explanation :

Auto - The camera decides how much sharpening to apply for each shot.

Low, Normal and High - self explanatory I hope. The same amount of
sharpening is applied to each shot.

None - er, no sharpening applied.

I have my D100 set to 'None' as I can do what ever I need to in PS and any
other setting on the camera must surely enforce longer processing times.

HTH

Paul
