Ok, now I'm confused. I've been burning DVD's by dragging and dropping to
the data tab too (in Toast Titanium 5.2.1), but I've never selected the
'other>dvd' option simply because I didn't notice it was there.
I don't think there's anything wrong at all with how you've been doing it. I can't believe I haven't realized this before. I've been doing exactly the opposite. I use the Data tab for CDs and the Other tab (set to DVD) for DVDs. I do this because I always keep the data tab set to the default PC/Mac Hybrid. If I drag enough data there to fill a DVD I get an error message saying that I need to select PC/Mac extended Hybrid instead. I never bothered to actually try that setting (I use the other with CDs to insure compatibility with OLD Macs). I just assumed I was seeing the error because I'd dragged too much data to the tab and switch to the DVD specific setting in the Other tab. From what you're saying it works fine to do both CDs and DVDs from the Data Tab.... just have to use the extended format... learn something new everyday...
Thanks
