I have yesterday found out that it is a limitation of that RIP which is unable to print gradients. The way around this is to replace the white background with a colour or pale grey etc. If you can't do that, you're sunk!

That sounds like a RIP to die for! It seems to me to be absolutely crazy that this should be the case.....if it cannot handle gradients surely it cannot be doing much of a job on anything?
