Summarising this, and the previous thread messages, must mean that to
maximise the quality of the output, all work on the image should be carried
out at the optimum res for the RIP or driver.This, in turn, should be a
figure exactly divisible into 720 for inkjet printing.

There will then be no reliance on the quality, or otherwise, of
interpolation within any software except PS.

As you can see, it just takes a while for 'the penny to drop' with me!!

Incidentally, a thankyou to Shangara:
until this thread, I thought image resolution and the file size of the
initial capture were one and the same thing!
