We have been using the Kodak Pro14N camera for about 6 months for all our
clinical photography but keep experiencing a problem.

We use the camera in our studio connected by firewire to a networked PC. We
had initial problems with a Belkin firewire card and replaced this with the
OrangeLink PCI card as recommended by Kodak. This solved the setup problems.
We then started to have problems with our 5m firewire cable and replaced
this with a 4m higher quality screened cable which worked fine for a while.
We are now experiencing recurrent problems losing the firewire
connection in mid shoot with the software not able to find the camera,
rebooting sometimes solves the problem but this is not practical while the
patient is waiting, so we have to revert to card.

We are unable to pinpoint the exact problem though as it occurs randomly. Is
it the connection, the PCI card, the software (Kodak camera manager), the
cable or a combination of these?

Has anyone else experienced problems with this setup? I would be grateful
for any help or pointers.
