Richard , my 1270 has of late exhibited similar symptoms. ive changed usb cables.used both usb 1 and USB 2 ports and tried the std Parallel printer cable. The same problem occurs.despite communication error notice the printers still functions although it does not like making more then on copy at times. I suspect a conflict somewhere and am trying to fid it,If I succeed Ill let you know.
