On the other hand I have heard repeatedly many bad thinks about the LaCie calibrations tools...

I've calibrated/profiled recent LaCies myself with the basICColor Squid and basICCColor Display SW, and I have lots of clients who do it too. I did hear about a software update from Gretag (iOne Match) just to fix a recent LaCie issue. maybe Colorvision didn't make the update before the demo?

It is an issue with the LaCie. For unknown (but suspect) reasons, the latest
LaCie ElectronBlues will only calibrate correctly with their own proprietary
BlueEye.
