We have previously reported that we are working on an update of the Guidelines that will be uploaded as soon as it gets a thorugh and final review and approval. In the meantime, this is a good time to start checking and re-checking our formatting to comply with some of the simple ( unchanged) rules of this forum, before we start enforcing them with more strenght. A good start will be to check for the following details: -Signatures: signature files should all be no larger than 5 lines TOTAL. THere are still a few signatures exceeding this format and we all think 5 lines is more than enough to deliver a sign off message. In some posts, the signatures have been longer than the message itself!! Dotted/dashed lines and empty lines also count in the 5 line limit. So please , recheck your signature files and make the necesary adjustments. -HTML messages: WIth only few exceptions, almost everybody is already posting in the adequate TEXT format, BUT we have found this detail that when , by some unfortunate coincidence, someone posts in HTML, some subsequent replies to this original message also follow the lead and we get a chain of messages in the html format. THis can be easily controlled by proper settings of the Preferences of the e-mail program. For the moments, please contact List mums if in doubt about setting e-mail adequately. -Subscribing AND Unsubscribing has to be done by the same person in the ProDig website, not asking the list or the List Mums to remove you. While we would not know of a good reason for anyone to unsubscribe, the method is simple and easy and is self serving. . -For all other questions, including on/off topics, do not hesitate to make contact .
