Hi Janus,

I bought an Olympus E1 mid December and am very happy with it. You can read the tech details on the Olympus site, so my comments are just personal.

Compared to the E20 and E10s it is far faster to shoot and to write. I have not tried the continuous shooting, supposedly 12 shots, in real work conditions, because it was fast enough in normal mode.

The battery lasts and lasts and lasts. Did a full day wedding (11am to midnight, 600ish shots) on one battery. Focusing on running lads in an under 13s Rugby match on a cold sunny Sunday morning - it kept up with me and was spot on (in focus and auto exposure) even shooting at moving subjects with low sun directly on the lens. Probably not as quick as I used to focus manually, but hey, not many autofocus cameras are. The focus 'hunts' in low light conditions, but I am yet to figure if it is the camera or the flash (FL40) on it.

For the first time since my Hasselblads I feel I am using professional equipment again. Interchangeable lenses as opposed to the fixed ones unlike the E10/20, so in due course I will invest in a nice long lens.

Don't know about the shaking, it was so intuitive that I did not read the manual, but that might explain the occassional blurred images? <G>

If you want to have a look/play without a salesman, give me a call on 0116 2403277 or email liisa{at}photoart.co.uk - you are Midlands based aren't you? I am in Leicester and Nottingham.

Liisa
