This is correct and is a good discipline to adopt. If I know I won't be printing for an hour or so, I turn the machines off. As you say, this parks the heads and seals the nozzles thus preventing many clogging issues.

We have always practised this with Epson printers but now having put them out to grass and moved over to Canon, there does not seem to be a need to turn the printer off (W2200 proofer). This is because after a short period of not printing it seems to go into rest mode. I would imagine that the print head is then protected, certainly in the six months we have had this superb machine there have been no blockages and banding...(OK density change lines Michael <G>)
