If that formula seems a bit familiar read on!
I want to know the illumination in lux of my retouching area, because as you all know,
"The ambient illumination for color monitors should be less or
equal to 32 lux and _must_ be less than or equal to 64 lux"Since I've got a light meter, I figured I could work out the illumination - there had to be some formula that related f-stop, asa and shutter speed to lux. However Googling has produced loads of formulae, all different and mostly disputed by another respondent.
Added to this they all seem to use the symbol ^ which wasn't a symbol I ever used in maths (or sums, as we called it at my school). Is it the qwerty keyboard equivalent of something like factorial or square root?
Someone out there definitely knows the answer to this. If we could hone it down to one everyone agrees on, I'd be very grateful to find the answer.
