Dear all

firstly many thanks for recent recommendations re Broadband ISP's . I have
recently transferred home connection to Pipex and am in the process of doing
the same at the studio. Support and response seem excellent at the moment.

I have also decieded that my poor old PC has to go , 5 years old and now
constantly generating "Svchost.exe errors " which despite my best efforts I
am unable to do anything about.

Therefore when my sparkling new PC arrives what can I do to prevent the
transfer of any Viruses or corrupted programs from the soon to be retired
PC. Is it simply installing decent anti virus software or will this than
give me problems when attempting to download info from the Internet? When
setting up the home broadband, i eventually has to disable the pre-installed
anti virus software as it was conflicting with the firewall installed on my
adsl router (That gave me a few more grey hairs I can tell you)

I am also considering updating my medium format kit after many years of
using a Mamiya RZ. Until the last couple of years I have not had a great
deal of use for it but I am increasingly shooting with it a lot more, people
and food etc. On a recent shoot about a third of the initial images were
simply not as crisp as i would like or expect so i wonder if 12 year old
conventional medium format lenses are just not good enough to work with
digitally. Does anyone have any glowing reccomendations or alternatly any
horrer stories of shooting with a Mamiya or Blad digitally using a Sinar 54
.

Many thanks in advance as ever.

Nick Carman
