I little help if possible, I wish to run a 2nd monitor from my G4, it is a G4 450 Mhz Mac with a agp graphics card, I have been told I need a new graphics card?!?! Is this going to be possible and what do I need to buy and if so. is it possible to do this myself?
Being that you have a old video card that does not support Quartz Xtreme, I would personally get a dual-headed video card. It would improve the performance of the machine as a whole, plus be able to drive the second monitor.
I would look into the ATI Radeon 9000 Mac Edition. BTW, ATI is the only official retail Mac video card manufacturer (except for the nVidia GeForce that Apple sells).
