I've used the same since May 02. The Mk1 (USB1) has got a bit of a design flaw, in that the Power On/Off button protrudes too much. If something presses up against it in your camera bag, it will turn on and stay on for as long as the pressure is maintained, instead of shutting itself off after a while. I found this out when I went to use it on a job and found it completely flat. Once a Li-Ion battery has been flattened past a certain point it is useless and has to be replaced. Fortunately that was quick and easy, about 16 inc. from the mfr. I 'fixed' this by glueing an M8 washer around the power button so it couldn't happen again. But whilst doing so I noticed that mere pressure on the case anywhere near the power button could turn on the XDrive. When I looked at the microswitch underneath, it was obviously about 1mm too high so that any case flex was a problem. Surgery with a hot soldering iron melted the plastic enough to give clearance. No problems at all since I did that about 6m ago. I've heard the later Mk2 USB2 model has an improved case design and doesn't turn on accidentally. They are a cheap and seemingly otherwise fault-proof storage solution, specially if you buy the disk separately - a 20GB IBM 2.5" cost me about 70 from scan.co.uk Tony Sleep =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
