For the past few months I have been using a Sandisk Firewire card reader to transfer my RAW files to by PC runnig XP Home.
Whilst it has generally worked well, it suddenly failed yesterday and I am looking to replace it with the best; most reliable; and fastest possible alternative. I have bought a USB 2 reader to tide me over but find it is about half as fast as the Sandisk - taking 3 minutes to download a full 512Mb card compared to the firewire's 90 seconds. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am quite happy to install an internal reader and any associated PCI card especially if it is the fastest option. Price is not really an issue here - I really want to get the best. Thanks in advance.
