Apart from image selection, my main use of the IVMP is to caption the images with IPTC information using the batch captioning feature. This works very well, apart from a few annoying things:
1. After selecting a group of images, entering the IPTC & caption info, you then have to click on the apply (green tick) button - then click on Apply to All button. But that doesn't actually apply the information to the files, you then still have to remember to go to the Action Menu, select Synchronize, then click on the Update button.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have this all done in one step when you click on the apply (green tick) button? At least there should be the option of setting this as a default setting in the preferences.
2. A feature I liked in Fotostation was that when captioning the next batch of images the information from the previously captioned batch carried over and you just needed to change the appropriate info in your caption. For example, when I'm captioning a set of pictures from a movie premiere the basic caption, date, copyright info, etc is all the same - I just have to change the names.
3. I use the Batch Rename function to change the filenames of my images and this works very well. But why is it not possible to change the filename of a single image?
Cheers,
Paul Smith
