Hi All,

If you live in the UK you might be interested in this message from the
Master Photographer's Association.

I received just such a 'demand' from the 'Data Protection Agency' on
Saturday and it looks extremely convincing.

Beware. Apparently, all trade protection authorities are aware.

DATA REGISTRATION

Many members are currently receiving a letter from a private company, based
in West Yorkshire, implying that photographers are in breach of Data
Protection Regulations if they fail to register under The Data Protection
Act. This information is factually wrong!

Providing you store and use date for YOUR PRIMARY CORE BUSINESS FUNCTION and
DO NOT TRANSFER SUCH DATA TO ANOTHER SOURCE you DO NOT NEED to be registered
under the Data Protection Act.

This private firm are trying to get you to part with 135.00 for a
registration that is unnecessary. Our advice - if you get this letter -
immediately consign it to where it belongs - the waste bin!
