Not wishing to be a pedant but he actually shot on HD which is some million miles away from digi beta. Having said that I have heard rumour that a semi pro HD format camera is now available for under 3,000k as opposed to the 100k sony gear which was the only option only a few years ago (maybe a model for DSLR pricing policy?).

If you want good example of how equipment means nothing without talent, Mr Testino (who's work has never really been on my top ten list) has an assistant who spends most of his time shooting on a Holga/Lomo and really captures some beautiful stuff. I'll dig up where I heard about him and post it if anyone is interested and list mom isn't in a bat waving mood.

When George Lucas decided to shoot his Star Wars tri-prelogy on digiBeta,
you should have heard the derision (mostly fuelled by fear) and the
criticism when he went ahead and produced the films. The technoheads, who

count for nothing in these debates, flocked to see them and the accountants,
who count only dollars, laughed all the way to the bank!
