I had an identical set up at a company I used to work at and never had 
the lightest problem, except a bit of a flash on the monitor when I 
switched over. It might have some long term derogatory effect on the 
screen, but at the time I wasn't paying for it so I wasn't too 
bothered! I'm 99% sure the box was a Belkin item as well.
