I assume that its because the ccd is posistioned slightly differently in each camera ?

Sounds about right, but are we talking through the eye piece or the screen on the back. I suspect that we're talking the eye piece as the ccd info would be sent straight to the screen, would it not? Is this a pro camera or a snappy one?
