Hi

A little while back I posted the problems I was having with Sony support, or
lack of. I had a private email from Richard Kenward offering to help in any
way he could. I took up his offer and a few days later was contacted by Sony
Customer Services with a solution!

They had found a replacement monitor and would not be sending back mine as
it had already been returned 3 times (it seems they have a policy of not
returning an item 3 times but Customer Support made no mention of it and
were trying their utmost to make me accept mine).

I was assured the replacement monitor would be thoroughly checked over and
overseen by the person I was speaking to before it was dispatched. It
arrived this morning and is the same age as mine and, outwardly, in the same
condition. The picture looks superb - I suppose anything looks superb after
seeing an out of focus kaleidoscope for a month! Seriously, it does look and
the display is more or less even.

BTW, I never did get that promised callback from the supervisor or the
engineer. I think I would still be waiting if not for Richard's
intervention.
