In photoshop set an action for saving, then in the batch dialogue box choose "folder" under "destination" then choose the folder you want.
eg, I have a dedicated folder called "transit' where I save all my in progress photoshopping images. I have set up shift+F9 to automate "save as tiff" direct to my transit folder.
