You are giving out information piecemeal. Makes for a difficult discussion
when the goalposts keep moving. I don't believe you said anything about a
deadline in your first post. Correct me if I am wrong. Also, no mention of
quality. It's therefore easy to assume that since only 7x5's are required,
they can be hand prints or machine prints. The quality of the Boots prints
is very good (of course, it's heavily dependent on the quality of your
prepared files!). You can pay through the nose for "quality" that's often
not required. Then again, "quality" depends on the material and the output
requirements. If you shoot reportage, I defy a client to say the quality of
7x5's from an S2 output to a Frontier at Boots is not acceptable.

However, with the amount of potential money you would save over a year
(depending on the number of jobs you do, something else you haven't said),
you could afford to buy a printer and hire an assistant to do the printing
overnight. Hell, if you tell me how many prints you require in a year, I'll
buy a 7600 and do your printing for you overnight! <g>

Anyway, I'm sure there are plenty of "professional" labs that work overnight
and can deliver the next day. I haven't had the need so haven't looked. If
your client is going to also benefit (it's hard to say because we have no
way of knowing his workflow), they may even extend their deadline. Maybe
your client's deadline cannot be moved but in my experience "most" deadlines
can be negotiated - especially when the client knows they are going to get
value for money. Any relationship is a two way thing and if they value you
AND you want to shoot digital, they should do their utmost to accommodate
you. If you don't want to shoot digital but you are just on a fishing
expedition...here endeth the thread.
