but is there any > reason why you cannot get digital prints done as quick? > I could get them done as quick but at 3.50 per print = 126 per 36 exposures against 20 for Dev and Print. Even allowing for selecting pictures and then having them printed I would only be able to select 5.7 images per 36 to have the same cost per picture as D&P gives me, (of course you have to add in say 5 for film + 80p in petrol and 80p in parking). > With a properly set up inkjet printer you could do it yourself and > generate a little extra profit from the job but I must admit I wouldn't > really bother myself. > I have a profiled inhouse printers etc, but printing 360 pictures in 9 hours overnight without sleep is beyond me, and what would an assistant charge to do that I wonder? The maths involved do not stack up in favour of digital for some work. I think it is important to remember that when considering changing. If my maths is wrong or anyone else has an idea where I can cut costs and add value to my product I would be pleased to hear about it. =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
